Power Kites, also known as parastunters, flexifoils and parafoils can be both dual or Quad line power kites. The unique cellular air frame harnesses the wind bringing a new excitement into the stunt and power kite realm. Power kites are portable, yet extremely powerful. Some of these power kites can be used in skiing, surfing, rollerblading, mountainboarding and wakeboarding.
Snow power kiting is one of the fastest growing wintersports around. Using power kites to harness the power of the wind you can ski/snowboard across flat ground, uphill and once mastered even soar through the air. No need for lift passes or queues, the possibilities are endless.
Power kites or traction kites are large kites designed to provide significant pull. They come in two main forms: foils and leading edge inflatables. There are also rigid-framed kites and soft single skin kites. There are several different control systems used with these kites which have two to five lines and a bar or handles.
Power kites are generally used in conjunction with a vehicle or board, such as in
kite surfing on a kiteboard
kite buggying on a purpose-built 3-wheeled cart
kite skating on all-terrain roller skates
snow kiting on skis or snowboards
kiteboarding on an all Terrain Board/Mountainboard/Landboard
kite jumping, using a power kite for jumping above the ground
manlifting, where a harnessed kite flier is tethered to the ground or one or more people to provide tension and lift.

Once again, these dual or quad line kites
can also be known by all of the names listed above, but in this
case, the shape of the kite is determined by the way the fabric
is cut and sewn and is not shaped by the addition of "sticks."
Most often, the power kite is crescent shaped and can have two
or four lines to control it. One of the best features of a
power kite is your ability to fold a relatively large kite into
a small package for easy storage and travel. These power
parafoil kites can generate a large amount of "pull" which at
the very least will exercise your arms and shoulders and with a
large power parafoil kite and a good wind, your feet will leave
the ground! These power kites are also used in wind surfing,
skiing, roller bladeing, mountain boarding and buggying.
Smaller power parafol kites can do many of the same tricks as
the rigid frame stunt kites.
